Honoring Fallen Heroes on Memorial Day

Updated: May 30

This week at Knox Ag Aviation, we’re stepping back from field updates to reflect on something much more important. Memorial Day is personal for us. And while some might use the weekend for sales or promotions, we’re using it to remember those who gave everything.

What We’re Flying this Memorial Day

This Memorial Day, there are no spray loads to report or weather patterns to track. Instead, Heath and I took time to share the stories of friends we lost in service. Guys like:

  • John Chapman

  • Chris Sather

  • Andy Fernandez

  • Josh Wheeler

  • Steve Langmack

  • James Reyher

  • Kenny Owens

Memorial Day isn't about our service — it's about their sacrifice.

What We’re Seeing in the Field

Out in the field, it’s been quieter this week. Fewer flights, more reflection. Heath and I both served in special operations—him in the Army, me in the Navy—and between the two of us, there are more names to remember than we’d like to count. Memorial Day brings those names to the surface again. And as we raise a beer or fire up the grill, it’s their stories we’re thinking about.

What to Watch

We know there’s a lot of noise this weekend—sales, ads, distractions. But Memorial Day deserves more than background status. As you enjoy your time with family and friends, just take a minute to think of someone who didn’t come home. That moment of respect matters more than any discount ever could.

We’re proud to be a veteran-owned business. But this Memorial Day, we’re not here to talk about ourselves—we’re here to remember the ones who can’t. Thanks for keeping that perspective with us.
